Welcome to the 2009-2010 RMSHA race season. It seems that the summer went by very fast. It will soon be race day and we will all be together again, doing what we like to do,  and that is  RACE!

First of all I would like to mention the great loss we had this year.  With Rick Wards passing there will always be a vacancy at the races and in our hearts.  Our love to Michelle and the family.

In talking with ISR this summer they asked me to thank our  racers for your professionalism and conduct.  Dick Gokey,  the President of the International Snowmobile Racing Association  said  "RMSHA is probably the most respected and best run racing associations out there.   Its also one of our oldest associations.  Please thank your racers and your Board of Directors."  We also need to thank former Board members and past racers for their guidance and dedication.  One would never know how much time and hard work is donated by those behind the scenes.  So when you have negative comments and feelings ask yourself if you are willing to serve yourself,  and help keep the organization healthy. Thanks to all those who do.

We have committees for nearly any thing that comes along.  Know for sure, that decisions are made using proper channels and many minds make those decisions.  Volunteer to serve if you feel you are not being heard.  Contact your Racer Reps.  They are Sandy Sletten, Todd Tupper, and Rusty Johnson.  Or talk to any officer of RMSHA.

NEW THIS YEAR: The first class each day of racing will alternate each day.  It will be announced well in advance on the website for the whole season.  After the first class we will fall back to the standard running order.  There will be no more riding sleds off the hill at the beginning of the day.

RMSHA has also adopted a NO TEST format.  You will need to have your sleds dialed in prior to coming to the venue.

Other changes will be in the course layout.  Our courses will be tighter this year.  In an effort to be safer, the straight runs will be shorter, the corners tighter and the gates closer, and less and smaller jumps to try to slow the speed down.  This should make it safer and cause less damage to the equipment.

Mark Smith is our TECH official again this year.  Call him for any advise concerning sleds etc.  His numbers are on the staff page.

We will be buying some new timing equipment this year to try to speed things up.  Capt'n Hook will be on the airwaves again.  We welcome everyone back.

We have all been affected by the economy.  Our season will be somewhat abbreviated this year in an effort to make racing more affordable for everyone.  We have had to make some adjustments like any other business.  Decisions are tough and we as a Board have no favoritism or special interest.  All meetings are open to members an all input is welcome.

Please visit this website OFTEN for updates and announcements as the season nears.

Once again thank you to all of you, Racers, Board Members, Staff, Committee members and most of all thanks to the dedicated fans who attend the races.

Welcome to RMSHA.
Scott Crane
RMSHA President

Check out the schedule in this program and try to make as many races as you can. Every hill has something different to offer both the racer and spectator.......
